A passion for fishing developed from watching my father fly fish for trout on the banks of the River Strule in Co Tyrone near my mum's family home and for brook brownies at Tal-y-Bont not far from the site of my great-grandfather's smithy.

Catch and Release!
Ordinarily I wouldn't post something I'd seen somewhere else BUT it reminded me of the day that I saw a fin perfect roach being caught and when put back I watched it for all of 10 seconds before the swirl of a pike took it! Watch and enjoy...

Had my finger sliced open this weekend by a very green pike so I know the feeling.Great footage by the way.
If you look at my fingers in one of the Chew photos you'll see blood coming from my fingers...
They are just such fantastic creatures and to have developed over time to have anti-coagulant on their teeth... another marvel of nature.
